Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
As a physiatrist, Dr. Bernard diagnoses and manages conditions that affect movement, strength, and daily function. She treats musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions, including spine disorders, orthopedic injuries, sports-related conditions, and other traumatic injuries.
Her approach emphasizes individualized care plans designed around each patient’s specific diagnosis and functional needs.
Diagnostic Testing (EMG)
Dr. Bernard has a special interest in electromyography (EMG) testing for patients with pain symptoms that may involve the nerves or muscles. EMG studies are commonly used to evaluate numbness, tingling, or weakness and can help support clinical decision-making during treatment planning.
Physical Therapy
When medically necessary, Dr. Bernard integrates physical therapy into conservative care planning for patients experiencing pain, mobility issues, or functional limitations. Therapy can help address strength, movement, and flexibility concerns related to injury-related and musculoskeletal conditions. She works with each patient to determine how therapy fits into their overall treatment plan.
