Biography
Dr. Silvia Geraci is a graduate of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her internship at Good Samaritan Hospital and her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System.
Following residency, Dr. Geraci pursued a fellowship in Pain Management at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, where she received advanced training in the evaluation and treatment of complex pain conditions.
Dr. Geraci in trained and skilled in the evaluation and management of pain and functional limitations from injuries, including traumatic injuries like those sustained in sports, car accidents and work-related incidents. Patients experiencing mobility issues, weakness, or ongoing pain after injury often seek her care.
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
As a board-certified physiatrist, Dr. Geraci focuses on diagnosing and managing pain and disability that affect movement and daily function. Her approach emphasizes individualized care plans designed to address each patient’s specific clinical needs following injury.
Interventional Pain Management
With fellowship training in pain management, Dr. Geraci performs minimally invasive procedures, including epidural injections, when medically necessary. These options are incorporated as part of a pain-focused treatment plan.
Diagnostic Testing (EMG)
As part of her approach to delivering comprehensive diagnosis, Dr. Geraci skilled in performing electromyography (EMG) testing. EMG studies are used to assess nerve and muscle activity and can help clarify symptoms such as numbness, tingling, or weakness. In-office EMG testing helps inform next steps in care.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapy may be incorporated into rehabilitation plans for patients recovering from traumatic injuries. When physical therapy is needed, Dr. Geraci works with patients to determine how therapy fits into an overall treatment approach based on their individual needs.
