Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Dr. Villafuerte is a physiatrist that provides care for individuals experiencing discomfort and movement difficulties after injury, including those sustained in motor vehicle and workplace accidents. He treats conditions affecting the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, involving the bones, joints, muscles, and nerves.
His approach emphasizes thorough clinical evaluation and non-operative treatment strategies when medically appropriate, with a focus on improving mobility and daily function. Care plans are tailored to each patient’s individual presentation and examination findings.
Diagnostic Testing (EMG)
Electromyography (EMG) is offered in the office to help assess nerve and muscle performance when patients report symptoms such as weakness, numbness, or tingling. This testing provides additional clinical information that can assist in determining appropriate next steps in care.
Dr. Villafuerte conducts EMG studies in office as part of a comprehensive musculoskeletal evaluation.
Physical Therapy
Rehabilitation programs often include structured physical therapy for patients dealing with injury-related movement limitations. Therapy sessions focus on improving flexibility, coordination, and strength while encouraging gradual return to routine activities.
Dr. Villafuerte collaborates with rehabilitative care teams to develop therapy treatment plans and recommendations based on functional findings and individual recovery needs.
